Business Valuation
Définition
La business valuation (Business Valuation) is the process of evaluating the current economic value of a business, taking into account its assets, revenues, profitability, and growth prospects. This estimate can be carried out for various reasons: during a sale, an acquisition, a merger, or to raise funds. There are several valuation methods, including the valuation of discounted cash flow (DCF), market multiples, or the net asset method. Each method has its advantages and limitations depending on the type of business, its sector and its development phase. An accurate valuation is crucial because it determines the price that investors or buyers are willing to pay for a portion of the business. It is also a key indicator of a company's financial health and long-term prospects.
